About The Brick Box

The Brick Box gang spreads far and wide. We are a diverse group of people from all walks of life with skills, experience and resources to share. We try things out, we make mistakes, we learn things. Sometimes we have big ideas and big successes. Sometimes we don't. We don't have all the answers. We do have lots of questions.

We welcome anyone who would like to come and experiment with us and develop creative ideas together. You don’t have to have any experience in the arts. We celebrate shared knowledge and skills exchanges. We believe that ‘novices’ offer a unique perspective and a set of life experiences that are equal in value to ‘experts’. By creating supportive, structured and inspiring environments we provoke, explore and develop new models of collaboration and possibility between ‘experts’ and ‘novices’.

We support and champion 'emerging' artists as well as ones who are 'fully emerged' or 'submerged'. And people who don't feel like calling themselves artists.

After essential investment in the company has been met, net profits will be invested directly back into the local communities we serve.

Projects are rooted firmly in the communities they serve and grow from the ‘ground up’

We do not seek to simply entertain, but to blur the boundaries of audience, performer, participant, artist and spectator in order to create situations that provoke, challenge and inspire people

We believe that failure is a natural and healthy part of experimentation and we value what we can learn from both success and failure
